Safaris

We currently offer three types of safaris, but are always happy to tailor a safari that fits your needs and wishes.

A safari in Kruger can also be combined with a stay in Cape Town.

The prices are based on a group of 8 persons.

Kruger National Park and the Drakensberg Mountains (5 days)

You fly in to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMI) where Leonard, your ranger and guide will meet you.

 

We drive up into the Drankensberg Mountains (The Panorama Route, through Blyde River Canyon, the worlds 3. biggest canyon)

 

Here we will pass one waterfall after another in the scenic mountain landscape.

 

We will make stops at the most beautiful lookout points such as Gods Window, The Three Rondavels og Bourke's Luck Potholes. There will be several opportunities to shop for local handicrafts.

Depending on your arrival time at the airport, you will have lunch at or spend the night at a guesthouse in the small town of Graskop. Perhaps there is also time for a visit to the picturesque village, Pilgrim's Rest, a living memory of the early gold rush days in South Africa during the late 1800s / early 1900s.

1. and 2. overnight stay in Kruger Park: Letaba Rest Camp in a round walled bungalow for 2-3 persons with bathroom and braai. You have a choice of kitchenette or communal kitchen; with or without riverside view. Excellent opportunities for birdwatchers.

3. and 4. overnight stay in Kruger Park: Skukuza Rest Camp the headquarter of the Park, in a 2- or 3 bed bungalow with bathroom, kitchenette and braai. The Camp has many extra facilities and is beautifully situated on the bank of the Sabie River, which runs from west to east through the park.

5. overnight stay in Kruger Park: in the small Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp in either a bungalow with bathroom and braai or in a furnished safari tent on wooden stilt and communal bathroom – communal kitchen.

On the last day you drive out of Crocodile Bridge Gate and back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMI), an 1-2 hours’ drive.

Price: 5.145 DKKR (12.700 ZAR) pr. person.

On each lodge you can decide if you want to eat in the restaurant, buy food from well-assorted grocery store, or a combination. 

Count on an additional expense of 1000 DKKR pr. person for food (2500 ZAR).

TOTAL: 6.145 DKKR pr. person

The price does not include airfare. You need to book your own airfare from wereever you travel from.

 

A return ticket from Copenhagen to Nelspruit Mpumalanga typically costs between 6.000 and 8.000 DKKR, but if you book well ahead you can often get it cheaper.

Kruger National Park (5 days)

You fly in to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMI) where Leonard, your ranger and guide will meet you.

 

We will drive towards the southern part of Kruger Park, approximately an hour away.

 

From now you are on safari whenever you drive!

1. and 2. overnight stay: Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp in a bungalow with 3 beds, kitchenette, w/c and shower and braai (an outdoor grill that all bungalows or tents in the park have). The area in this part of the park is mountainous with beautiful views.

 

3. and 4. overnight stay: Lower Sabie Rest Camp in a bungalow with 2 beds, bathroom, braai and communal kitchen nearby. The camp is situated at the watery Sabie River with the Lebombo Mountains in the background.

5. overnight stay: Satara Rest Camp in a bungalow with 2-3 beds with bathroom, kitchen and braai. If you chose a bungalow close to the perimeter fence, you will hear lions, hyenas and other wild life during the night.

On the last day you drive west and out of Orpen Gate and you will either catch your flight at Hoedspruit Airport 2-3 hours from Satara or go back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMI) 4-5 hours from Satara.

Price: 5.445 DKKR (13.500 ZAR) pr. person

On each lodge you can decide if you want to eat in the restaurant, buy food from well-assorted grocery store, or a combination. 

Count on an additional expense of 1.000 DKKR pr. person for food (2500 ZAR).

TOTAL: 6.445 DKKR pr. person

Kruger National Park (8 days)

On this trip from North to South in the park you will experience many different landscapes and therefore the great variation in animal- and bird populations.

You fly in to Hoedspruit Airport where Leonard, your ranger and guide will meet you.

 

We drive approximately 1½ hour north to Phalaborwa Gate and in to Kruger Park. From now you are on safari whenever you drive.

1. and 2. overnight stay: Mopani Rest Camp in a bungalow for 2-4 persons with bathroom, outdoor kitchen and braai. On the second day you go north on a full day game drive, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, to Shingwedzi Rest Camp where you will have lunch and return to Mopani via another route.  

3. and 4. overnight stay: Olifants Rest Camp in the central part of the park in a bungalow for 2-4 persons with bathroom, outdoor kitchen and braai. There is a fantastic view of the Olifant’s River delta. On the third day you will have lunch at Leataba Rest Camp and enjoy the interesting and informative elephant museum. On the fourth day, you could sign up for a 3-hour bush walk via the camp.

5. and 6. overnight stay: Lower Sabie Rest Camp in a bungalow for 2 with bathroom, braai and communal kitchen nearby. The camp is situated at the watery Sabie River with the Lebombo Mountains in the background. One evening you could sign up for a bush braai with a night safari via the camp.

7. and 8. overnight stay: Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp in a bungalow with 3 beds, kitchenette, w/c and shower and braai. The area in this part of the park is mountainous with beautiful views and there are good chances of seeing white rhinos between Lower Sabie and Berg-en-Dal.

 

On the last morning you drive out of Kruger Park and to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMI), a 1½ hours’ drive.

Price: 8.845 DKKR (21.800 ZAR)

On each lodge you can decide if you want to eat in the restaurant, buy food from well-assorted grocery store, or a combination. 

Count on an additional expense of 1600 DKKR pr. person for food (4000 ZAR)

TOTAL: 10.445 DKKR
